The rear impact crash test is a five mile per hour crash test in which the vehicle is backed into a post. Readings are taken to determine how much force is transmitted to the passenger compartment.

Roof Strength Test

The roof strength test measures how much force can be applied to the roof before it begins to intrude on the passenger compartment. The IIHS standard is that four times the weight of the car must be supported to pass the test.
